Reserve Money Grows by 2.1% in Azerbaijan
OREANDA-NEWS. April 06, 2010. This February the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA) registered growth of extended money basis by 1.8% against this January and fall of 4.7% since early 2010 with year-on-year rise of 10.9%.
In 2009, its level dropped by 1.13% versus growth by 44.27% over 2008.
The CBA informs that volume of reserve money amounted to AZN 4.677 bn by 1st March 2010 versus AZN 4.59 bn by 1st February and AZN 4.907 bn by 1st January of the year. As of 1st March 2010 money basis in manats reached AZN 4.658 bn versus AZN 4.559 bn and AZN 4.86 bn respectively.
At the same time, if not to take seasonal factors (AZN 4.779 bn) money basis increased by 2.1% this February, by 8.9% since early 2010 and by 12.4% on an annualized basis.
In 2009, money basis in manats rose by 1.7%. At the same time, if not to take seasonal factors, money basis increased by 1.1% versus the 2008 index.
The level of bank reserves decreased from the beginning of 2009 by 27.1% versus the 2008 figure. It is linked with reduction of norms of reserving.
