Engineering Center to Build Substation Kaskadnaya
OREANDA-NEWS. April 05, 2010. JSC “EC UES” concluded a contract with JSC “FGC UES” for construction of substation “Kaskadnaya” - 500 kV with aggregate transformer capacity of 1 900 MVA with connection of 220-500 kV power transmission lines. Period of contract execution is through December, 2013. Total cost of work under the contract is over 7 billion rubles.
Specialists of “Engineering Center UES”, under the Contract, will perform development of working documentation, construction and installation, startup and adjustment, equipment supply, implement warranty maintenance and provide training for the energy facility staff.
“Execution of obligations under the contract will be entrusted to a branch of “Engineering Center UES” – “EC-Grid”. As of today, ensuring reliable operation of energy system is impossible without modernization and construction of new transmission lines, improvement of conditions for connection of consumers. Further on, our company is planning to use the experience for furthering of grid construction”, - stated Vladimir Zhidkov, Director General of JSC “EC UES”.
Branch of “Engineering Center UES” – “EC-Grid”- unites energy specialists and grid construction experts. The main direction of the branch activity is participation in implementation of comprehensive engineering projects, construction of energy facilities and implementation of comprehensive installation work during construction of high voltage transmission lines and substations.
It is planned that domain of competence of “EC-Grid” will include development of survey in the area of energy sector, and, in particular, search for efficient solutions for compliance with ecological standards based on development of scientific and technical programs and implementation of the results at energy facilities under construction and operating power plants.
Commissioning of “Kaskadnaya” substation with the installed capacity of 1900 MVA will considerably enhance the reliability of power supply to the existing and newly connected power consumers in south-east areas of Moscow and Moscow region.
