OREANDA-NEWS. April 05, 2010. All passenger transport vehicles in Stavropol will be equipped by GLONASS/GPS receivers until the end of the year.

According to the city’s Mayor Nikolay Paltsev, 150 municipal buses and trolley-buses have been already GLONASS’ed. This number shall reach 1100 by the end of 2010. GLONASS/GPS satellite navigation will help optimizing the traffic and avoid jams in the city. In addition, the system will improve driver’s discipline and responsibility, Paltsev states.
