OREANDA-NEWS. April 05, 2010. IDGC of Centre, JSC is completing construction works and planning to put the substation of 110 kv “Kotorosl” into production operation in Yaroslavl in the 2nd quarter 2010. Investments in the project amount to 482 mln Rubles.

New substation will provide facilities that are being constructed to the 1000th anniversary of Yaroslavl: new residential complex, park of the 1000th anniversary of Yaroslavl, perinatal centre, Uspensky Cathedral, congress-centre, retail and entertainment centre with qualitative power supply as well as create power capacity reserve of Kirovsky and Krasnoperekopsky districts of Yaroslavl.

Sergey Shumakher, Deputy General Director for Technical Policy of IDGC of Centre, JSC, noted: “The substation “Kotorosl” is intended to power supply of exclusively important consumers and equipped with the most-up-to-date equipment which have no parallel in power grids of IDGC of Centre. The new power facility is being constructed in the historical centre of Yaroslavl, and for the substation to wed with the city image we are carrying out the whole package of architectural measures”.

The SS “Kotorosl” is the power facility of 110/6/6 kv voltage with two transformers of 25 MVA each (installed capacity of the substation will be 50 MVA with prospect of capacity increase up to 80 MVA) and overhang of double-circuit section of 110 kv power transmission line of 3 km length.

Currently construction works are completed by 98 % and erection works – by 90 %: construction of block-modular building is completed, the substation territory planning is fulfilled, power transformers, arc-suppression coils, equipment of relay protection and automation are assembled, oil collectors and oil receivers are installed, assembly of telemechanics and electricity metering system is being completed.

Innovation equipment: gas-insulated switchgear (GISG) of 110 kv of Siemens company production with built-in ground-wire and disconnect switch modules is assembled at the substation. As specialists of IDGC of Centre, JSC note, gas-insulated switchgear relates to up-to-date generation of gas-insulated distribution devices and corresponds to all reliability requirements. Unlike outdoor switchgear (ODS) with oil breakers, it is flame- and explosion-proof, has long life term, more reliable insulating characteristics, quick actions and high breaking capacity, small maintenance volume and is very compact — area occupied by GISG is significantly less than ODS.

At present power engineers complete works on construction of cable line of 6 kv from the substation to the first facility of the millennium — concert and performance hall which is planned to be technologically connected in the 2nd quarter 2010. Solemn putting of the substation “Kotorosl” into operation is planned for May 28, 2010.
