Moldovan Economy Shows Signs of Recovery
OREANDA-NEWS. April 05, 2010. This was announced by the Vice-Premier, the Minister of Economy during the press conference, stressing that in the last 3-4 months there was a trend of growth in exports and industrial output. In particular, in February, as compared with the previous month, exports have increased by 19%, while exports of the industrial products - by 4,1%.
Valeriu Lazar stressed the importance of the fact that economical recession has stopped and shows the tendency of growth, which will allow to proceed to the second stage of Stabilization and Economic Recovery Program. He noted that the Moldovan government stands for transformation of economic model based on consumption and imports to the model aimed at attracting investment and exports for sustainable economic development.
Valeriu Lazar reminded that to support the reform program of the current government, the development partners have decided to provide financial assistance amounting to 1.9 billion euros or USD 2.6 billion, 62% of which are grants and 38% - concessional loans.
