OREANDA-NEWS. April 05, 2010. TNK-BP has developed a new training and development program for graduates from oil & gas institutes designed to produce world—class specialists in the field of well interventions. The program is designed to last 3 years, during which yesterday’s students become young specialists in TNK-BP and complete a course of theoretical studies at the TNK-BP Sibir Branch in Tyumen, followed by practical exercises during visits to the company’s fields in the region.

The intention is that after successfully completing the program the graduates will become valued specialists in TNK-BP and continue working in the company as supervisors, drilling and workover (well servicing and capital workover) engineers, well interventions managers or line managers. As the program develops it will expand to incorporate aspects of downhole operations such as selection of candidate wells, hydraulic fracturing technology and engineering, bottomhole treatment, and selection of optimal equipment for mechanized oil production.

The program launch is scheduled for 1 August, and the process of interviewing and selecting candidates will begin in the very near future. The basic requirements include: a degree in drilling of oil and gas wells, development and operation of oil & gas fields, or oil and gas field machinery and equipment, basic English, and mobility. TNK-BP specialists are currently giving presentations in the Gubkin Oil & Gas University, the Tyumen State Oil & Gas University, the Tomsk Polytechnic University and other institutes to introduce the programme to potential participants. Fifteen specialists will be accepted for the program in 2010.
