OREANDA-NEWS. April 02, 2010. The Baku Metro Department relies upon great hopes for German tunnel drilling equipment.

Tagi Ahmadov, the head of the Department, says that a German-made machine will be acquired for drilling of tunnels.

“A joint stock company on subway construction has signed an agreement on purchase of such a facility. Machine’s design capacity is 25 m a day. After we are delivered this equipment, tunnel laying work will be conducted easier. And that will enable to commission up to 5 new metro stations a year,” Ahmadov said.
