OREANDA-NEWS. March 31, 2010. Uralkali (Berezniki, Perm Territory) has set a price of 4,300 rubles per tonne of potassium chloride (in bulk, exclusive of VAT and transportation costs) for Russian complex mineral fertilizer producers. The new price, effective from January 1 to December 31, 2010, is an anti-crisis measure aimed at supporting Russian agriculture and Russian producers of complex mineral fertilizer and is based on recommendations from Russia’s Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS). This price is almost 30% lower than the price according to the formula contained in the amicable agreement between Uralkali and FAS.
Throughout 2009 Uralkali supplied potassium chloride to domestic complex fertilizer producers at 3,955 rubles per tonne in a move aimed at supporting the development of Russian agriculture during the economic downturn. Thus, in 2010 the price for this group of customers has increased by 8.7%.
The new price level for Russian complex mineral fertilizer producers will apply providing potassium chloride is free from any export duties.
