Klaipeda Takes over Boat VELUNGIS
OREANDA-NEWS. March 30, 2010. An inspection boat VELUNGIS take-over hand-in statement was signed in the premises of Port Authority (J. Janonio g. 24, Klaipeda).
Port Authority took over this boat from The Lithuanian Maritime Safety Administration. The take-over hand-in statement was signed by the director general of Port Authority Eugenijus Gentvilas and the director of The Lithuanian Maritime Safety Administration (LMSA) Evaldas Zacharevicius.
Pursuing to resolution No. 169 of the Government of the Republic of Lithuania, dated by the 24th of February,2010, SE Klaipeda State Seaport Authority on the 20th of February, 2010, under the right of use as property took over from LMSA a non – current tangible asset – inspection boat VELUNGIS to manage, employ and have at its disposition.
Inspection boat VELUNGIS will be employed to deliver pilots on/from board of the ships calling or leaving Klaipeda Port, to perform the search of people and salvage of life activities in port waters. In case of necessity inspectors from LMSA will be provided a possibility to employ this boat for inspection of ships at harbour roads or ships that have moored at Bыtinges terminal..
Port Authority took a decision to grant another name to this inspection boat. The name of the boat VELUNGIS will be changed into MINGE.
Presently auxiliary fleet of Port Authority comprises 7 ships: the diving loggers RIFAS and GELME, the pilot boats SMILTE and DANGE, the rescue boat ЮAIBAS, the hydrographic vessel RUSNE and the tag STUMBRAS.
