Azerbaijan’s Corporate Bonds Turnover Rose 13.4-Fold in 2010
OREANDA-NEWS. March 29, 2010. For Jan-Feb 2010 Azerbaijani market of corporate bonds grew 13.4-fold compared with last year’s same term and reached USD 37 million in accord with exchange rate by March (AZN 0.8032 to the US dollar).
The Azerbaijan State Securities Committee (SSC) informs that as of 1st March 2010 the volume of the corporate bonds market made AZN 29,395 versus AZN 2.199 million for Jan-Feb 2009, or 13.4-fold more.
“By 1st March 2010, 9 deals were registered,” the SSC informed.
In 2010, the corporate bonds market is provided by primary transactions with corporate bonds in manats (AZN 15.173 million on 2 deals). For Jan-Feb 2009 such operations were not registered.
At the same time secondary placement of bonds in US dollars rose 6.8-fold against the 2009 relevant period (AZN 14.198 million on 5 deals versus AZN 2.099 million on 1 deal last year).
