OREANDA-NEWS. March 30, 2010. Following a successful hydraulic fracturing programme and testing of appraisal wells No.66 at the Severo-Khokhryakovskoe field and No.60 at the Bakhilovskoe field, TNK-BP subsidiary Varyoganneftegaz has begun producing commercial volumes of oil.

TNK-BP’s press service has told UralPolit.ru that the oil is currently being shipped out by road tankers along an “ice road”. The good flow rates obtained from the appraisal wells will help Varyoganneftegaz to carry out its drilling programme efficiently and build new cluster pads.

OJSC Varyoganneftegaz is developing 5 fields: Severno-Varyoganskoe, Bakhilovskoe, Severo-Khokhryakovskoe, Verkhne-Kolik-Yoganskoe and Suslikovskoe. In 2008, the company produced 3,087,000 tons of oil and 1.251 bcm of gas.
