OREANDA-NEWS. March 29, 2010. Belarusian average wage in nominal terms reached 1,016,400 Belarusian rubles (Br) (equivalent to USD 341.5, down from USD 342.5) in February 2010, up 1.6% month-on-month, told an official with the National Statistics Committee.

In real terms (adjusted for the increase in the consumer prices), the average monthly wage went up 1.1% on the month. In January-February 2010, the average wage increased 3.9% on the year in real terms.

The average wage in Minsk reached Br 1.376 million in February, in the Gomel Region 976,500 rubles, in the Minsk Region Br 967,000, in the Grodno Region Br 912,900, in the Brest Region 899,700 rubles, in the Vitebsk Region Br 894,600, and in the Mogilev Region Br 888,300.

In manufacturing, monthly wages averaged Br 1.138 million, in construction Br 1.341 million, in transport Br 1.169 million, in telecoms Br 1.222 million, in agriculture Br 632,200, in retail and public catering Br 921,400, in healthcare Br 795,000, in education Br 736,500, in science Br 1.436 million, in sports Br 1.322 million, and in culture Br 777,100.
