OREANDA-NEWS. March 29, 2010. For Jan-Feb 2010 the share of crude oil in country’s overall export totaled 85.18% with 2.32-fold rise against Jan-Feb 2010.

In 2009 the share of crude oil in export made 81.57% with decline of 72.86%.

The State Customs Committee (SCC) informs that for Jan-Feb 2010 the country exported 4.896 million tons of crude for USD 2.739 bn versus 27.829 million tons of crude oil for USD 11.989 million in 2009.

This February crude oil export totaled 2.6 million tons for USD 1.475 bn versus 2.265 million tons for USD 1.26 bn in January of the year.

For Jan-Feb 2010, as well as in 2009, the SOCAR Department of Marketing & Economic Operations of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) exported the whole volume of crude oil, while Azerbaijan International Operating Company (AIOC) did not carry out any export.

In December 2009 as well as in November, AIOC did not export oil versus export of 6.257 million tons in October and SOCAR exported 1.594 million tons against 1.307 million tons.

By 1st March 2010 it was carried 633.58 million tons (2.985 million tons in February) of oil via pipelines (data of controlling and measuring appliances) versus 41.29 million tons in 2009 and 147,414 tons (70,890 tons) of oil by rail.

“289,728 tons out of overall transportation were transported via Baku-Novorossiysk oil pipeline (versus 2.48 million in 2009, 5.37 million tons (versus 34.57 million tons in 2009) via Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) pipe and 676,041 tons (4.235 million tons) via Baku-Supsa pipe,” the Committee said.

This February transportation reached 159,858 tons via Baku-Novorossiysk, 2.5 million tons via BTC, 303,679 tons via Baku-Supsa and this January 129,870 tons, 2.847 million tons and 372,361 tons respectively.

For 2008 average export price of Azeri oil made USD 565.67 per ton (including USD 373.89 per ton in December).

In December 2009, oil was exported at the average price of USD 547.66 per ton and for the entire past year at USD 430.83 per ton.

This February average export price was USD 560.93 per ton and for Jan-Feb 2010 USD 559.58 per ton.

Azerbaijan’s overall export for Jan-Feb 2010 totaled USD 3.216 bn.
