OREANDA-NEWS. March 29, 2010. This February oil production in Azerbaijan dropped compared to January of the year. This year oil production by all the producers in Azerbaijan still makes up 59,476 barrels against 375.807 million barrels in 2009 and 332.07 million barrels in 2008.

The State Statistics Committee informs that as of 1 March 2010 the country was produced 7.97 million tons of oil that is by 8.5% more versus the Jan-Feb 2010 index.

This February’s indicator totaled 3.7 million tons versus 4.268 million tons in January of the year. The best indicator of 2009 was registered in May - 4.518 million tons.

“Major non-state producer Azerbaijan International Operating Company (AIOC), developing Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli oilfield block, produced 6.6 million tons of oil for Jan-Feb 2010 that is by 11.4% more against Jan-Feb 2009 index,” the Committee said.

This February production by the consortium totaled 3.1 million tons against 3.5 million tons in January of the year and its best indicator of 2009 was registered in June - 4.3 million tons.

In 2009, production totaled 50.376 million that is by 13.5% more versus production for 2008, including AIOC production of 41.9 million tons.

In 2008, the country was produced 44.46 million tons of oil (+4.6% against 2007), including 35.9 million tons of oil (+5.3%).
