IDGC of Centre Increased Number of Contracts for Additional Services
OREANDA-NEWS. March 24, 2010. It is the third year IDGC of Centre renders additional services to clients besides main kinds of activity (electric power transmission and technological connection to grids). In 2009 number of concluded contracts for rendering of additional services of the Company increased almost tenfold in comparison with 2008 — from 3 085 up to 30 614. As a result of rendering of all additional services last year the Company realized 905 million rubles which it spent on development of business and technical re-equipment of power facilities of the Company.
Having investigated demand of customers of the Company for various services IDGC of Centre divided additional services into two packages — core and related. Core services include engineering, construction and operation of grids of outside lightning, operational and technical management and maintenance of customers’ power grids, including inter-house grids, installation and check out of accounting meters, repair and maintenance of electrical equipment. Related services include test runs and diagnostic operation of electrical equipment, analysis and reclamation of circuit-breaker oil, holding of power savings complex measurements and many others.
In 2009 volume of proceeds from rendering of core additional services within the territory where the Company operates increased by 41 % in comparison with 2008 and equaled 434 million rubles. Proceeds from rendering of related additional services increased 2,2-fold and equaled 471 million rubles.
Structure of additional services was changing during the year. There was growth of productive services with high added value (replacement of accounting meters, street lightning, operational and technical management and maintenance of grids) and there was reduction of share of non-productive services (property lease, advertisement on objects belonging to the Company). If in I quarter 2009 the most in-demand service was service “Leasing of premises, equipment, plots of land belonging to IDGC of Centre” (50 % of applicants made use of it), then in II quarter service “Offset of grids” (39 %) became leader by popularity. In III—IV quarters distribution of services became more uniform.
In-demand service was replacement of accounting meters. As a whole clients of the Company have 3,5 million accounting meters. About 60 % of them need replacement because of inappropriate accuracy class. Replacement of accounting meters is of primary importance, as these measures will allow the Company to provide all customers with qualitative power consumption accounting and to make significant contribution into development of power savings in regions.

Last year in the course of marketing investigations volumes and potential of market of certain kinds of additional services were estimated, the most perspective directions were singled out, current share of market regarding each additional service was determined, regulatory and methodological documentation and standard forms of contracts were developed and introduced. Implementation of measures of improvement of level of additional services allowed to increase proceeds from rendering of additional services by 76 % in comparison with 2008. The Company makes not least ambitious plans in 2010 as well.
Evgeny Grabchak, Head of the Department of development of services and additional services of IDGC of Centre, JSC remarked: “Our Company realizes its responsibility related to uninterrupted electric power supply, strives to satisfy client’s demand in full and to anticipate consumers’ expectations. If a client needs a service, then, surely, we do not want to leave him along with firms which chase only after profit sacrificing quality of executed works. We’ll render necessary service ourselves, qualitatively and in due time, having secured our client from future problems with power supply, and we’ll spend proceeds on repair and modernization of power supply facilities of the Company improving reliability of power supply. So, rendering of additional services, from one hand, helps the Company to receive additional financing for modernization of power supply facilities, and from the other hand — allows consumers to accept professional help in solving of problems related to qualitative power supply”.
