OREANDA-NEWS. March 23, 2010. The construction of a public transport interchange with a car park is to be completed near the northern entrance to Planernaya metro station, northwestern Moscow, in April or May.

According to the local prefecture, an appearance of the structure that is almost completed resembles a shopping centre.

The transport interchange will allow drivers coming from outside the city to leave their cars parked and get into public transport, including the Moscow Metro. The 620-capacity car park will occupy three top floors of the structure.

There will be bus and trolleybus stations as well as an entrance to Planernaya metro station on the ground floor. The first floor will be occupied by retail outlets and a food court. A half of the underground floor is intended for retail outlets too, another half – for engineering facilities.

The services of the transport interchange will also be available for physically challenged people.

City authorities expect such structures to ease the heavy traffic flow throughout Moscow and prompt car owners to use public transport.
