Belarusian Consumer Prices Increased 0.5%/mo in February
OREANDA-NEWS. March 23, 2010. Belarusian consumer prices went up to 0.5% on the month in February 2010, compared to a rise by 0.8% in January, told an official in the National Statistics Committee.
Prices rose 1.3% in January-February 2010, compared to 5.4% in January-February 2009.
In annualized terms, that is, February on February, consumer prices rose 5.7%, which compares to 15.7% in the period February 2008 through February 2009.
Food prices rose to 0.9% in February 2010 and 1.5% in January-February 2010, non-food prices went up to 0.2% and 1.5%, and consumer services prices increased to 0.3% and 0.5%.
In 2009, inflation accelerated to 10.1%. The forecast for 2010 stands at 9-10%.
