IMF Mission to Visit Estonia
OREANDA-NEWS. March 23, 2010. A staff team of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) pays its visit to Estonia from March 23 to March 29. The mission has scheduled meetings with representatives of the state and of the public sector in order to discuss the country's economic policy situation.
The representatives of the IMF will receive an overview of Estonia's economic developments and medium-term outlook, the financial-sector situation and fiscal policy.
In the course of the week-long visit, the IMF mission has meetings with the President, members of the government, managers and analysts of Eesti Pank and the Financial Supervision Authority and representatives of commercial banks.
The mission is led by Christoph Rosenberg, Head of the IMF's regional office for Central Europe and the Baltics. The outcome of the IMF staff visit will be presented by Mr Rosenberg at a press conference held in Eesti Pank on 29 March from 11.00 to 12.00. The Minister of Finance Jьrgen Ligi and Governor of Eesti Pank Andres Lipstok will also participate in the press conference.
This visit is a short mission to Estonia. The IMF's annual main mission, the so-called Article IV consultations, takes place in autumn.
