Thus, Russia joins one more large scientific megaproject, previously decision was made about participation of Russia and the project of creation of superpower X-ray laser XFEL, which will be created in Hamburg, moreover, Russia for many years participates in creation and functioning of the Large hadron collider in the territories of Switzerland and France.

According to the direction, cabinet council of RF approved drafts of Convention on construction and operation of European center on research of ions and antiprotons and the final statement of authorized representatives conference regarding construction of FAIR.

These documents were prepared in "Rosatom", conduct of negotiations and signing thereof from Russian party was assigned to it. "Rosatom" should also provide budget funds for these projects during forming of draft state budget for the next year.

European center on research of ions and antiprotons (FAIR) is located in suburbs of Darmstadt, Germany. The central part of the project is double synchrotron, perimeter of circle of rings in which will make 1.1 kilometers. Nowadays 15 countries participate in this project, among which are Germany, France, Great Britain, and Russia. The first experiments are expected in 2013, and full-scale work will be started in 2016.
