OREANDA-NEWS. March 18, 2010. The project of port station construction was realized at the expense of State Budget finances. Only dry cargo will be dispatched from the port station.

The major goal of the project is transfer of industrial enterprises outside of the capital, improvement of environmental situation in the city and increase of the volume of cargo trafficking from the country. 14 vessels simultaneously can enter in the port station. Mooring berths with total length of 1 500 m, a wave breaker and a railway branch have been constructed here.

President Aliyev also examined cargo warehouses built on the territory of the port station. The station has three warehouses with length of 185, 72 and 42 m. Their overall area is 6 500 sq m. Work on expansion of infrastructure, transfer of a ship-repairs factory and motor base are ongoing.
