FAS Received Thousand Reports about Cartel Collusions
OREANDA-NEWS. March 18, 2010. Within two and a half months of 2010, a thousandth report was sent by e-mail to the Cartel Department of the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS Russia) - kartel@fas.gov.ru, which already exceeded the figure for the whole year of 2009, reported the press-centre of FAS Russia.
The home page of the Internet site of the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS Russia) has a link "Report a cartel collusion", clicking on it one can find out the e-mail address and the telephone number to contact Alexander Kinev, the Head of the Cartel Department.
"More and more often individuals and legal entities indeed take the opportunity to send a message to us via e-mail or contact me over the phone", confirms Alexander Kinev, the Head of the Cartel Department. "We receive dozens of messages and calls daily. Obviously not all of them relate to cartels. Sometimes people complain about growing prices or abusive practice by companies. Nevertheless, I would like to express my sincere gratitude to all who approach us for their proactive position and assistance they offer to the authorities".
70% of the cases initiated by the Cartel Department are initially based on the information, received via the e-mail: kartel@fas.gov.ru or the "hot" line number: 8-916-686-50-32. Information received through these channels, which is outside the scope of reference of the Cartel Department, is forwarded to other FAS Russia's Departments for further consideration.
