OREANDA-NEWS. March 18, 2010. JSC Aeroflot Russian Airlines and the Russian Federal Agency for Air Transport have signed an agreement providing for subsidies to be granted to Aeroflot as a compensation for the costs related to the company’s carrying passengers from the Far East to the Russia’s European part and back, reported the press-centre of Aeroflot.

IN the period of April 01 thru October 31, 2010, Aeroflot will be carrying such passengers at special discounted tariffs applying to Russian citizens aged through 23 and over 60. Infants under 2 accompanied by adults will be carried free of charge without a reserved seat, and with a seat reservation – at 75% of the special tariff.

The discounted tickets are available from March 12, 2010.  

As part of the agreement, Aeroflot will provide 60 economy-class seats for reduced-fare passengers on each its flight to the following destinations:

Vladivostok - Moscow – Vladivostok

Magadan – Moscow – Magadan

Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky – Moscow – Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky

Khabarovsk – Moscow - Khabarovsk

Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk – Moscow – Yuzhno-SakhalinskPetropavlovsk-Kamchatsky – Vladivostok – Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky.

The agreement was signed under the Russian Government Resolution ‘On approval of Rules for subsidizing of air transport organizations in order to improve air transport availability to the Far East passengers flying to the Europeans part of Russia and back in 2010’.

In 2009, Aeroflot carried over 26 500 passengers under the program for discounted carriage of Far East passengers.

JSC Aeroflot consistently implements its social policies in aimed at those needing support. As part of the policy, free air ticket ate provided to war veterans, victims of siege of Leningrad, artistically gifted children and physically challenged children, people of art, etc.
