OREANDA-NEWS. March 17, 2010. Belarus’ OJSC Olivaria, a brewery based in the city of Minsk, produced 791,000 decaliters of beer in January-February 2010, a decrease of 23.9% on the year, said a representative in Belgospischeprom concern.

In February, beer output fell 32.5% to 393,000 decaliters.

Beer offering in plastic bottles fell 23.8% to 583,000 decaliters in January-February, in glass bottles decreased 26.1% to 173,000 decaliters, and in kegs declined 17.5% to 33,000 decaliters.

The brewery accounted for 17.6% of Belarus’ beer production in the first two months, down 3 percentage points year-on-year.

Olivaria beer sales amounted to 753,700 decaliters in January-February, down 2.6% on the year.

Olivaria was founded in 1864 and transformed into a joint stock company in 1994. In December 2006, Sweden’s BBH acquired a 30% stake in Olivaria by purchasing an additional issue of shares for USD 18.5 million.
