Azerbaijan Annual Inflation Reaches 4,02%
OREANDA-NEWS. March 17, 2010. The Centre informed that the research showed that this February Azerbaijan’s CPI grew by 0.65% compared to January when its growth was 1.06% against December 2009. For Jan-Feb 2010 index rose by 1.72% versus December and by 4.02% against Jan-Feb 2009 (3.25% in January).
“This February the prices in Baku rose by 1.53% (1.43% was registered in January) and in regions by 0.68% (0.71%). Last month the largest rise in prices was registered on foods - 1.35% (in Baku – 1.39% and in regions – 1.31%). The decline of 0.32% was registered in prices for non-foods (in Baku – 0.56% and in regions – 0.09%). Price increase in services sector totaled 0.03% (+0.09% in Baku and -0.03% in the regions),” it was informed.
According to official statistics, country’s year-on-year inflation was only 2.8%.
In 2009, according to the Centre, the country registered inflation of 0.56%, including in Baku by 2.67% and in regions by 1.5%.
