OREANDA-NEWS. March 17, 2010. BTA Bank implemented a set of documents in the sphere of standardization “Procurement of Information Security of Arrangement of the Banking System of the Russian Federation” as corporate standard of information security. The standard recommended by the Bank of Russia was enacted by the official Order of Chairman of the Board Ms. Elena S. Messerle for all branches and additional offices of BTA Bank on February 26, 2010, reported the press-centre of BTA Bank.

The adoption of the document is aimed at increasing transparency and stability of the Bank as well as at establishing unified requirements of procuring information security of the Bank and its customers.

-     BTA Bank started using individual provisions of the CBR Standard in 2007. Upon issue of the official order of the Chairman of the Board the Standard became statutory to comply with in full. This shows the interest of the top management in estimating the risks efficiently, protecting personal data of our customers and securing the continued nature of our business, - says Piotr Kurilo, Head of Information Security at BTA Bank.

The Bank of Russia’s Information Security Standard is the basic document in the sphere of standardization of information security at banks. This was developed by information protection experts, who took into account the specifics of banking activity. The latest wording of the Standard was implemented by the regulator in 2009.
