OREANDA-NEWS. March 17, 2010. The Ministry of Economy of Moldova invited consulting companies to participate in elaboration of policies to improve the investment and business climate in the country. It was discussed at the meeting of the Minister of Economy Valeriu Lazar with representatives of Moldova’s consulting companies held at the Ministry of Economy’s initiative, it was informed at the Ministry of Economy’s press service.

Valeriu Lazar emphasized that in activity of protection and promotion of the business’s interests, consulting companies not only accumulate a considerable volume of information about the problems faced by the business but also find solutions. He urged to find mechanisms together by means of which consulting companies could participate in the state’s policy as to the investment attraction and facilitation of the business activity. The Minister said the many enterprises in conditions of the crisis became insolvent and face financial problems.

The respective financial-economic evaluation with the further implementation of vital solutions to improve the situation is necessary for their recovery. According to Valeriu Lazar, the fact that such enterprises as a rule don’t have an opportunity to pay for consultants’ services in the process of restructuring and to find investments in restructuring and technical reequipment is the main problem.

The Ministry of Economy is interested in finding sources of the full or partial funding of the cost of consulting services for such enterprises including from the state and local budgets and external grants. Valeriu Lazar emphasized that the current leadership is opened for attraction of the foreign capital into economy and the European and international financial structures are ready to support Moldova in use of the economic and human potential. The Ministry of Economy is interested in establishment of the permanent platform for the dialogue between authorities and business environment not only on the stage of formation of the policies but also on the stages of development of monitoring of their implementation.

The Ministry of Economy initiated creation of the special consulting council for modernization and development as such platform in which authorities, branch associations, Foreign Investors Association and consulting companies would participate. The keenest problems concerning export and investments and ways of their solution will be discussed within the framework of the council. It was agreed that the consulting companies will contribute in presentation of Moldova’s economic potential at the International Investment Forum Business Week in Chisinau in June, with the Vienna Economic Forum to be held within the framework of it. Valeriu Lazar said the Ministry of Economy would carry out the ananymous interrogation of economic agents about the state of the investment climate and export potential every six months.
