OREANDA-NEWS. March 16, 2010. JSC Atomstroyexport signed a contract with the Bulgarian company BESTTECHNICA TM Radomir AD. This is the first contract concluded with the Bulgarian supplier within Belene NPP construction. BESTTECHNICA TM Radomir AD shall have to produce and supply two transport locks for the reactor compartment of two new units of a new Bulgarian nuclear plant.

In order to ensure prompt and duly supplies of equipment of long production cycle JSC Atomstroyexport makes contracts with manufacturing plants both in Russia and in Europe. Such activity is carried out with participation of the authorized Bulgarian experts.

The agreement with the Bulgarian side stipulates that about 30% of the whole scope of construction works will be performed by Bulgarian companies, - informed the vice-president of JSC Atomstroyexport – the Head of Division for NPP construction in Bulgaria, Gennadiy Tepkyan.– They will have to work jointly on Belene NPP construction project with the Russian as well as European partners - Siemens, Areva, Nukem, GNS.

Traditionally, Bulgaria takes part in cooperation of atomic engineering.  BESTTECHNICA TM Radomir AD has more than 25-year experience in production of large-sized equipment including those for the atomic plants. Supplies and services localization during Belene NPP construction will allow to increase production capacities of the Bulgarian companies that will contribute to further development of their technological potential.
