OREANDA-NEWS. March 15, 2010. According to “National Maritime rate of Ukraine- 2009” of “Ports of Ukraine” magazine and information-analytical center “BlackSeaTrans” “NIBULON” reached the highest growth rate on cargo turnover in 2009. The company increased shipments on water to 50,8%. Thus “NIBULON” was in advance of one of the industry leaders - the company “TIS”, Port “Pivdennyy” (40,3%) and its Mykolayiv colleagues “Nika-Terra” (21,4%) and Mykmorservis-terminal” (18,1 %).

In the nomination “The absolute growth - 2009”, “NIBULON” ranked the third place with the amount of growth 1,5 million tons in 2009.

Last year “NIBULON” also won in the nomination “The growth rate – 2008”, demonstrating the growth rate of cargo turnover 183%, and in the nomination “The absolute growth - 2008”, reached an increase of cargo traffic of 1,92 million tons.

Experts of the magazine also denoted newly built river terminal within the framework of investment project of “NIBULON” in Vitovo village (Cherkasy region). The terminal has become a laureate of “Golden berth- 2009” prize in nomination “River berth”.

Another remarkable result: the fourth place in the rate of “Man of the Year 2009 in the water transport industry” was taken by General Director of “NIBULON”, Hero of Ukraine Oleksiy Opanasovych Vadaturskyy. 

The winners in this nomination were identified by the group of 70 experts; each of them had an opportunity to say three names of people who were worth of this title in any order.

According to the authors, “it is a completely new name for this rate”. Experts rated O.O. Vadaturskyy primarily “for opposing the attempts to destroy private investors”, “for the construction of elevators on Dnipro River and the construction of a number of cargo vessels, despite the hard resistance of the authorities”, “the development of inland navigation in Ukraine”.

Rates of main achievements and failures in 2009 were also created by the authors. Among the achievements of 2009, the construction of a number of cargo universal non-self-propelled vessels by “NIBULON” for river transport system within the framework of investment project, contemporaneously with the construction of a number of river elevators was named.

Among the failures: “inaction of the legislative bodies in improvement of the legal framework of Ukraine in relation to the maritime industry”, “the conflict between state ports and private terminals”, “creation of conflicts that destroy cooperation between private and public enterprises by management of state-owned enterprises “Pivdennyy Commercial Sea Port” and “Mykolayiv Commercial Sea Port”.

The award ceremony will be held on the 25th of March, 2010.
