OREANDA-NEWS. March 12, 2010. JSC Metrovagonmash has won the tender for the two-year delivery of ten DMUs for Serbian Railroads (Zeleznicе Srbije). Two-coach rail buses will be supplied to Serbia.

Apart from Metrovagonmash the following companies participated in the tender: CAF, Spanish rolling stock manufacturer; TZV Gredelj (Tvornica zeljeznickih vozila Gredelj, Croatia, Zagreb) and ZOS Vrutky a.s., (Slovakia, Vrutki).

For the sake of a winner selection, the tender committee considered, along with the quotation issue, the manufacturers experience in the sphere of DMU development and production.

“Transmashholding carries out active work to enter new market channels and search for new partners both in Russia and abroad. This win of Metrovagonmash proves the fact that Russian railroad production in great demand, and it is capable of competing with large manufacturers from the European Union on equal terms”, said Andrey Andreev, Transmashholding General Director commenting on the tender results.

DMUs and rail buses manufactured at Metrovagonmash during various periods of its work have been successfully operated not only in Russia but also in Ukraine, Lithuania, Hungary, Czech Republic.

In total beginning from 2006 Metrovagonmash has delivered its customers 62 sets of two- and three-coach rail buses.
