OREANDA-NEWS. March 11, 2010. Further intensification of mutually advantageous cooperation between Turkmenistan and Switzerland was a focus of the meetings at the Government, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Economy and Development of Turkmenistan. Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Swiss Confederation in Turkmenistan Alain Guidetti had arrived on a working visit to Ashgabat for this purpose.

During the meetings the sides underscored the high dynamics of intergovernmental relationships based on the traditional ties between the two friendly nations, which had been noticeably intensified in recent years, and expressed interest in furthering cooperation. A wide range of the issues relating to further expansion and enhancement of Turkmen-Swiss partnership, which had the positive experience of cooperation in the key fields as an asset, were discussed.

During the meetings, which had been held in the atmosphere of cordiality and sincerity, emphasis was put on the practicability of continuing regular bilateral consultations which allowed building the most effective mechanism for long-term collaboration on the principles of equality and mutual respect.
