IFC Intends to Become Shareholder of MEGABANK
OREANDA-NEWS. March 10, 2010. International Finance Corporation intends to become the shareholder of a medium sized MEGABANK,PJSC, informed the head of representative office of IFC in Ukraine Elena Voloshina. About this informs Maanimo.com with the reference to Ukrainina news, reported the press-centre of MEGABANK.
"We have signed an agreement for USD 10 million for so called senior loan, which had the option to convert into shares. Now we are in the talks with MEGABANK,PJSC about conversion of these funds into shares. These are not additional funds which we provide, but those USD 10 million", - she said. As a result of conversion IFC will become the owner of about 10% of MEGABANK's shares. Ms. Voloshina has not specified the terms of completion of conversion procedure.
As was informed earlier, as of January 1, 2010 MEGABANK's assets were UAH 3 172,0 million, loans and clients' debt - UAH 2 411,5 million, capital - UAH 634,0 million. 2009 the bank finished with net profit of UAH 1,581 million. The major shareholders of MEGABANK,PJSC are: CJSC "М-Invest" (Kharkov) - 34,99%, EBRD and KfW - 15% each.
