OREANDA-NEWS. March 10, 2010. "No other antimonopoly authority in the world bears so much burden and responsibility as FAS Russia. In this sense the Russian Antimonopoly Service can be rated at least fifth among other antimonopoly agencies", said Sergey Katynin, the Vice-President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation, at the extended session of the Collegium of the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS Russia), reported the press-centre of FAS Russia.

The Vice-President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry emphasized that FAS Russia's work was highly appreciated; pointing out at difficult conditions in which FAS had to perform, experiencing pressure all around.

Sergey Katynin: "The Federal Antimonopoly Service is one of the most efficient government agencies in terms of its record of achievements. And it is not an empty phrase. It can be illustrated with the example of joint efforts of FAS Russia and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry".

He said that for the Chamber of Commerce and Industry important focus of violations exposure are preventing fictitious actions, reducing administrative burden on business and FAS Russia's work in the field of state procurement.

"All forms of business are represented in the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation. However, we do not support business developments that are not consolidated with the interests of the society. In this connection we wish to thank FAS Russia on behalf of all business for its active and fruitful work in 2009, which was an extraordinary productive year in terms of the agency's performance", said the representative of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

Outlining positive measures undertaken by the Antimonopoly Service towards protection of businesses in the Russian Federation, Sergey Katynin said that the Federal Law "On State Procurement" is a powerful incentive for developing Russian economy. The Vice-President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry emphasized the Chamber's readiness to work together along of areas of activity the Antimonopoly Service. He also pointed out the need for further improvement of the antimonopoly legislation.
