Moldovan Parliament Approved NPRA 2010 Budget
OREANDA-NEWS. March 09, 2010. The chairman of the parliamentary commission on economics, budget and finance Veaceslav Ionita said the National Power Regulating Agency’s budget had been reduced by 1.4 million leis in comparison with the primary plan by means of reduction of the Agency’s current costs and decrease in wages of the NPRA’s leadership.
At the same time, in comparison with the year of 2009, the NPRA’s budget will increase by 2.6 million leis this year due to the growth of the Agency’s costs connected with the passing of the management of heating energy and renewable energy markets to it and growth of rent expenses and payment of wages. The NPRA will also start carrying out the audit of management of energy enterprises for the first time entailing additional expenses.
Earlier, the Parliament postponed approval of the NPRA’s budget. Deputies of the Party of Communists of the Republic of Moldova’s faction expressed their indignation concerning the fact that the salary of the NPRA’s director general amounts to 19.7 thousand leis. despite the fact that the same amount of wage for the head of the Agency regulating the branch valued at 15 billion leis was fixed by the previous authorities, it was decided to cut wages of the National Power Regulating Agency’s leadership by about 20%.
