Pskovenergo Put into Operation New Over-Voltage Alarm Equipment
OREANDA-NEWS. March 05, 2010. New samples of Russian individual over-voltage alarm equipment have been put in Pskovenergo branch of IDGC of North-West in experimental operation.
According to Deputy Chief Engineer for Industrial Inspection and Labour Safety Igor Makukha, the SNIU and SNIK 6-10 devices will be used as additional means of individual protection in one of electric networks areas by the employees directly engaged in operation and repair of the electric grid equipment.
Application of individual over-voltage alarm equipment allows to warn cases of erroneous approach of the personnel to the energised elements of electric power installations. If a person approaches a dangerous zone at an inadmissible distance to open energised current-carrying parts, the device will warn them with a signal and light indication.
The manufacturer guarantees reliability of operation of the device at the temperature from plus 40 to minus 20 degrees. Service life of each alarm device without replacement of batteries is about 5 years.
According to Igor Makukha, the experimental operation of new devices will be summed up in the form of responses about their operation and passing the final decision on purchase of a necessary set.
Let us note that for today all operation personnel of industrial branches of the Pskovenergo electric networks 100% is provided with individual over-voltage alarm devices of SNIM type; from above 1 thousand devices are in operation.
