High-Ranking CZECH Delegation Visited Machinery Plant

It was stated during the visit that high level of Russian and Czech interaction in supplying Russian nuclear fuel to the Czech NPPs enables to reckon on its full scale development and extension taking implementation of new common projects into consideration.
JSC TVEL’s Vice-President Vasili Konstantinov stressed that relations between the two countries in the field of nuclear fuel cycle have come to the new level of development. According to his words, the plans of establishment of the Fuel Company on the basis of JSC TVEL encompass a construction of a nuclear fuel fabrication plant in the territory of one of the EU countries. The
„Equipment for the plant will be manufactured by JSC MSZ and components will be delivered by other JSC TVEL subsidiaries“, said Vasili Konstantinov. According to his words, “the establishment of an assembling plant abroad is an important competitive element.”
During their visit to JSC MSZ, members of the Czech delegation again confirmed the advantages of the Russian fuel to the Western analogues. They also noted JSC TVEL’s endeavour towards continuous innovative development and improvement of production. Special accent was put on safety and reliability of the Russian fuel assemblies. These criteria were, in particular, considered when the Czech operator made a decision on early discharge of the Westinghouse’s fuel from reactors in Temelin NPP.
