Belarusian Household Consumer Spending Increased by 9.7%

Food accounted for 39.3% of all consumer expenditures, down 1.8 percentage points on the year; payments for services accounted for 21.1%, compared to 19.9% in the fourth quarter of 2008, of them payments for utilities made up 7.7% of all consumer expenditures, up from 7.1%. Spending on non-foods accounted for 37.3% of the total, showing no change. Alcohol accounted for 2.3% of the total spending, showing no change.
