OREANDA-NEWS. March 05, 2010. The Deputy Minister of Economy Octavian Calmic said the mentioned FEZ “Balti” would be established for 25 years on the total area of 11.85 hectares. Its major goal is to form the industrial center in Balti, to attract investments, to introduce modern technologies, to create new workplaces, to put in operation industrial capacities in the field of machine-building and instrument-making, to expand the export potential, to solve social-economic problems.

It is planned that the FEZ “Balti” will be specialized in production of export-oriented production, foreign trade activity, in particular, sorting, packing, marking and other operations with goods transiting Moldova’s customs territory. The enterprise with foreign investments Dra Draexlmaier Automotive, established in Moldova by the German concern Draexlmaier will be the main resident of the FEZ “Balti”.

The company will manufacture production for machine-building, in particular, spare parts for cars. The German company Draexlmaier started production activity in Moldova in 2006. It develops and produces modern electronic board systems and other equipment and offers automobile innovations of different brands, such as Audi, BMW, Bugatti, Cadillac, Mercedes-Benz and others. It is planned that after establishment of the FEZ “Belti”, investments in the amount of 25 million euros will be made within the initial economic projects and up to 7 thousand new workplaces will be created.

Sales of industrial production are planned in the amount of 500 million leis (about USD40 million). At the same time, 90% of the total volumes of production will be exported.
