Baltic Data Center’s Revenue Increased by 9% in 2009
OREANDA-NEWS. March 04, 2010. The year 2009 revenue of Baltic Data Center, a leader in the management of data centres and information systems in the Baltic States, was LTL 39.7 million, an increase by 9% over the revenue of LTL 36.4 million in 2008. The revenue growth of the company belonging to TEO LT Group resulted from the development of services and their successful export.
Baltic Data Center, providing services in the Baltic States, Scandinavia and Poland, last year signed an agreement with the first Asian company Interlogics based in Japan on management and development of its systems. Business development was guaranteed also by an agreement signed in December on acquisition of Interdata, one of the leading providers of web hosting services in Lithuania.
According to Saulius Markыnas, Director of Baltic Data Center, the business development opportunities were secured by the further investments made by the company into technological infrastructure - the company’s fifth data centre was opened in Vilnius last year, while installation of the sixth data centre is planned to be completed in 2010.
“By installing new data centres, immense attention was paid also to the economical use of natural resources – a centre cooled with special liquid was opened in Vilnius last year”, - S. Markыnas said. According to him, one of the first data centres in Europe fitted with KyotoCooling technologies, which enable using outdoor air instead of conventional cooling systems, will be completed in 2010, in Vilnius.
Last year, Baltic Data Center was the first among IT management companies in Lithuania to become a Certified Partner (Oracle Certified Partner) of software company Oracle. The company also became a Preferred Partner of Hewlett-Packard (HP), the world‘s largest technology company in Lithuania, and an Advanced Partner of global IT company IBM.
At the awards ceremony of the international conference Data Centres Europe, Baltic Data Center was announced as the best data centre operator in Central and Eastern Europe. Last year, the validity of the information security standard ISO 27001 certificate was confirmed for the third year in a row.
At the end of 2009, Baltic Data Center had 180 IT specialists, this number underwent little change in the course of the last year.
