OREANDA-NEWS. March 04, 2010. President Alexander Lukashenko signed Decree No 92 "On Some Issues of Agricultural Organizations," which purpose is to revitalize the agricultural sector of the Belarusian economy, reported the Official website president.gov.by.

The Decree envisages reducing by a total of Br1.6 trillion (from Br9.3 trillion to Br7.7 trillion) the financial liabilities of Belarusian agricultural producers, which are due to be met in 2010. One of the ways involves granting such producers the right to repay their debts as of 1 January 2010 by instalments within the next 10 years.

It will lessen the financial burden on the agricultural organizations by Br480 billion in 2010 (from Br541 billion to Br61 billion). Between 2011 and 2013 it will be further eased annually by Br11 billion, but it will increase by Br61 billion per year between 2014 and 2019.

According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Food, this Decree, by relieving the companies’ financial burden, will help revitalize the entire agricultural sector, making it more attractive for investors.
