OREANDA-NEWS. March 3, 2010. The city authorities of Moscow approved a reconstruction project for the small ring railway scheduled to be implemented till 2016.

According to Pyotr Biryukov, head of the Moscow Municipal Service Department, thirty stations are to be developed on the small ring of Moscow Railways, some of them will be the interchange ones providing an opportunity to change from a coach to bus or metro and vice versa.

The official added that an interval between the trains was expected to be a minute and a half.

“It is important that not only passenger trains but also freight ones will be able to use the small ring railway. It will allow freight trains to pass through Moscow as fast as possible,” Mr Biryukov emphasized.
