EIB Plans to Invest EUR100 mln in Moldova
OREANDA-NEWS. March 03, 2010. It was said by the head of the department of energy, environment, small- and medium-sized enterprises of the Eastern Europe, Russia, South Caucasus and Central Asia of fthe European Investment Bank Constantin Synadino at the meeting with Moldovan Prime Minister Vladimir Filat, according to the Moldovan Government’s press service.
Constantin Synadino emphasized that the EIB was successfully implementing many projects in Moldova. “Moldova represents a special interest for us and we want to continue investments in your country in 2010”, he said emphasizing that some projects connected with crediting of the small- and medium-sized business, environment protection and infrastructure development are planned to be launched in the republic in 2010.
Besides, the EIB is ready to examine possibilities of implementation of projects in the field of energy and alternative sources of energy in Moldova. According to Constantin Synadino, the EIB has a complex agenda for Moldova and the bank’s approach is pragmatic. Prime Minister Vladimir Filat thanked the European Investment Bank for the interest to Moldova saying there are many fields needing investments.
He said the energy security is one of the priority tasks of the Moldovan government. He mentioned alterations introduced into the legislation in the field of energy and Moldova’s joining to the European Energy Community, calling it a big success. Vladimir Filat emphasized that the Moldovan Government is open for cooperation and values EIB’s readiness to invest in the republic.
