Moldova Registered First Signs of Economic Growth
OREANDA-NEWS. March 02, 2010. It was said by the Minister of Finance Veaceslav Negruta in the interview to the Timpul newspaper noting that the more tangible restoration of economy is expected in 2011-2012.
Speaking of the credit in the amount of USD590 approved by the IMF for Moldova, the Ministry of Finance’s head emphasized that a part of this money would be used to replenish the National Bank’s monetary reserves, while another part – about USD 150 million, will be used in 2010 to cover the budget deficit.
Veaceslav Negruta said the first money allocated to Moldova by the Fund would come to citizens’ homes as wages and social compensations. Until mow, it was directed only to the National Bank to replenish monetary reserves. The Minister of Finance emphasized that the money from the IMF I very cheap.
A zero rate will be applied on credits provided to support the budget in the first two years and 0.25% - next years.
