OREANDA-NEWS. March 1, 2010. The State Corporation Rosatom has confirmed the decision on the establishment of the Fuel Company on the basis of JSC TVEL.

The given decision was made as a part of the implementation of measures for restructuring of nuclear energy industry complex aiming to increase its efficiency and effectivity.

At the first stage, the JSC Consolidated Separation and Sublimate Complex Complex (OK RSK) shares will be transferred to JSC TVEL.

OK RSK consolidates 100 per cent stock of the Sublimation and Separation Plant – Angara Electrolysis Chemical Plant, PO Electrochemical Plant, Ural Electrochemical Plant and JSC Siberia Chemical Plant.

In addition, JSC TVEL will be transferred 100 per cent of shares of JSC Engineering Centre Russian Gas Centrifuge that associates enterprises in atomic industry that participate in the process of development and production of the basic (gas centrifuges) and auxiliary equipment in the separation enterprises – JSC Vladimir Production Association Tochmash, JSC Kovrov Mechanical Plant, JSC OKB-Nizhniy Novgorod, JSC Centrotekh-SPb, Novouralsk Scientific and Design Centre, Ltd, Novouralsk Instrument Plant, Ltd, Ural Gas Centrifuge Plant, Ltd.

All necessary corporate activities to establish the Fuel Company are scheduled to be completed in 2010.

Increase in nuclear fuel cycle products and services competitiveness on the global market and maximum possible satisfaction of the needs of both Russian and international customers are the strategic aim of the establishment of the Fuel Company.

The basic tasks of the Fuel Company are: building of the optimum management structure of the nuclear fuel cycle enterprises, increase in labour efficiency, increase in production volumes and product marketing. The new structure will improve starting positions for the establishment of global alliances with Western companies and will ensure the outstripping development of the scientific component necessary for the innovative development of the nuclear fuel production capacities.

At the first stage, the Fuel Company will associate gas centrifuge manufacturing enterprises, separation and sublimation plants, and fuel fabrication plants.
