OREANDA-NEWS. February 27, 2010. At its opening Rovnag Abdullayev, the president of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR), said that oil refining at SOCAR refineries rose up to 91.6%.

“Already now SOCAR manufacture petroleum products conforming to standard euro-2 and is considering prospects of output production on standards euro-3 and euro-4,” he emphasized.

SOCAR’s institute “OilGasScientificResearchProject” was commissioned to work over the issue. According to primary estimates, SOCAR is able to launch without large delays production of diesel fuel on euro-3 standard, and cost of manufacture of petrol on this standard (content of benzol in such petrol should be lowered under 1%) is being studied. It will probably demand construction of a new reprocessing facility.
