OREANDA-NEWS. February 27, 2010. A delegation of the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS Russia) took part in the sessions of the Competition Committee of the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) and Global Forum on Competition in Paris, France, reported the press-centre of FAS Russia.

These events were attended by delegations from different competition authorities of the countries - members and non-members of OECD as well as representatives of international organizations and the leading experts on competition law.

For the sessions of the OECD Competition Committee and Global Forum on Competition the FAS Russia prepared information materials, covering most items on the agenda. Also in course of the discussions, Andrey Tsyganov, Deputy Head of the FAS Russia, presented the position of the Russian Federation on developing competition in the following fields:

- Collusion and corruption in state procurement;

- Transparency in the law enforcement work of the antimonopoly authority;

- Ensuring competition in the market of renewable energy sources;

- Competition, concentration and stability on the banking sector;

- Competition, state aid and subsidies.

Such format of discussing competition advancement with the best experts in the field enables antimonopoly authorities from different countries around the world to take a common stand on effective development of competition in various sectors of the economy.

Apart from working at the sessions of the OECD Competition Committee and Global Forum on Competition, the FAS Russia's delegation held several meetings with representatives of competition authorities from Brazil, Hungary, France, Italy, the USA, the European Commission and others, with the aim to advance bilateral cooperation in competition policy and organization of forthcoming joint events.

"It is certainly important to continue the practice of FAS Russia's representatives participating in the work of the OECD Competition Committee as well as other activities of this influential international organization. It allows us to be abreast of the latest changes in competition policy at the international level and inform our colleagues from other countries about the major improvements in Russian competition law and enforcement practice", said Andrey Tsyganov, Deputy Head of the FAS Russia.
