OREANDA-NEWS. February 27, 2010. DemirBank has started offering its clients VISA plastic cards in British pounds (GBP). This enables clients to realize card transactions in pounds in Azerbaijan and abroad, reported the press-centre of DemirBank.

“Transactions in new currency were introduced in accordance with the Bank’s plastic cards development concept. According to the concept more plastic card innovations are expected. These innovations will ensure more convenient use of cards, expansion of plastic card services and better customer servicing” - stated Yusif Jabbarov, deputy Head of the Management Board.

DemirBank offers up to 39 days interest free credit lines on credit cards, individual card design, urgent order and receipt of a card within 15-60 minutes (Express card service), transfer of funds from one card to another (card-to-card service), messages on mobile phone with information about card transactions (SMS Banking), card payments of utilities and other services/products via DemirBank website and other services.

DemirBank also offers the exclusive service in Azerbaijan – Telephone Banking. This service enables cardholders to pay for utilities (electricity, gas, water) and communication services (Azercell, Bakcell, Nar Mobile) by simply dialing 3 digit number 149.

One of the first banks in Azerbaijan DemirBank (former name Azerdemiryolbank) started its activity 20 years ago in 1989.
