OREANDA-NEWS. February 26, 2010. At the end of 2009 MegaFon’s network registered more than 50 million customers. In 2009 MegaFon's customer base grew by 16%. The total number of MegaFon subscribers as of January 17, 2010 was 50,7 million.

On Dec. 20, 2009 the score of 50 million subscribers has been achieved. In 2009, the number of clients in Stolichny branch of OJSC "MegaFon" has increased by 15% and was more than 7 million. The Company has also strengthened its position in North-West Federal District maintaining its leadership – MegaFon’s subscriber base grew by 6.3% up to 8.2 million customers.

MegaFon’s Ural branch has become a leader in growth of subscriber base in 2009 increasing the number of its customers by 32%. This proves an enormous potential of Russia's regions for the development of mobile communications.
