Ukrainian Ammonia Exports Grew
OREANDA-NEWS. February 25, 2010. According to the State Statistics Committee in January 2010, ammonia exports grew by the factor of 8.5 to 33,004 tons compared to January 2009, while proceeds from the exports of ammonia rose by 10.8 times to USD 9.169mn. In January 2010, ammonia exports decreased by 50.9% or 34,189 tons, compared to December 2009.
Millennium Capital sees this growth of ammonia exports as being caused by the world markets situation improvement, – the ammonia price at Port Uyzhniy constitutes USD 350-360 per tone. This news is undoubtedly positive for Odessa Portside Plant (OPP) and Stirol Concern, which have launched additional capacities for ammonia production. Millennium Capital would like to point out that these companies have minimal transportation costs for deliveries to Ukrainian ports because of their easily accessible location.
