OREANDA-NEWS. February 25, 2010. It was said by the Minister of Finance of Moldova Veaceslva Negruta adding that the debt on taxes to the national public budget as of December 31, 2009 totaled 1.2 billion leis, having increased by 81.4 million leis or by 7.5% for a year.

He said the debts to the state budget and budgets of administrative-territorial units administered by the Chief State Tax Inspection as of December 31, 2009 totaled 420.8 million leis, having exceeded the indicators registered as of the end of 2008 by 153.5 million leis.

The Ministry of Finance’s head emphasized that unfortunately, debts were reduced only in 6 administrative-territorial unions, while in others the debts increased considerably, including 6 times in Orhei region, more than thrice in the region of Glodeni and more than twice in the region of Edinet, Hincesti, Dubasari, Cantemir and Drochia. The largest debts are registered to the Tax Inspection of Chisinau (334.2 million leis), Gagauzia (32 million leis), regions of Orhei, Taraklia and Balti (over 20 million leis).

The amount of debt in the rest regions is varied between 1,2 million leis in the region of Briceni and 14.8 million leis in the region of Glodeni. The Minister of Finance emphasized that these amounts aren’t small, drawing attention to the fact that nobody has ever worked effectively at these problems while the situation must be changed completely.
