OREANDA-NEWS. February 24, 2010. Quite a number of stores, retail and entertainment centres and catering facilities were opened in Moscow last year.

“Thirty-one big shopping facilities were opened in the [Russian] capital last year. The biggest among them were Zolotoy Vavilon multi-purpose retail and entertainment centre with the area of more than 242,000 square metres and the 241,700-square-metre Metropolis,” Vladimir Malyshkov, head of the Department for Consumer Market and Services of Moscow, said on February 18.

The official also added that two big stores specializing in children’s products had been commissioned in eastern Moscow.

“These are the 6,000-square-metre OOO Orion children’s goods centre and the 2,000-square-metre ZAO Deti non-food department store,” Mr Malyshkov specified.

The mentioned shopping facilities are also equipped for leisure time activities. They contain skating rinks, multiplex cinemas, game machines and food courts.
